Meet Rachel
(she/her/hers)
Hello! I am so glad you found your way here! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with an office in Mebane, NC. I specialize in healing interpersonal, developmental, and complex trauma, and in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive community. I am rooted in the belief that we all have the capacity to heal, and we tap into that capacity through safe relationship and attuned witnessing.
I grew up in Burlington, NC where I graduated highschool and met my partner. After working in customer service for 10 years, I attended Alamance Community College in Graham, NC to begin my college career. I transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) to receive my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and finally received my Masters of Science in the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program at UNC-CH. I worked in community mental health for a short time before transitioning to private practice focusing on compassionate, gentle and effective treatments for survivors of trauma.
I have developed an integrative approach to therapy that includes narrative, somatic, and experiential practices.
When I am not working with clients, you may find me somewhere in the background of a theatre, hiking, or in my garden. I am founder of Transcend Alamance, a non-profit organization that focuses on creating a support network for LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive folx in Alamance County. I am a mother of two teenagers, married to my partner for 20 years, and we would not be complete without our Dachshund mix puppy Eury, our herd of cats Cubby, Tigerlily, and Chai “Kiki”, and our pet chickens.
